Alice T. Kieffer, 92, of Topeka, passed away Sunday, December 10, 2023.
She was born September 14, 1931, in Saint Mary's, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Clarence and Edith (Chelgreen) Tuberson.
Alice graduated from Ridgway Centennial High School, Ridgway, PA. in 1949. After high school, she moved to Washington DC and began working for the FBI as a switch board operator. On February 21, 1953, she married Alan R. Kieffer in Dallas, Texas. Together they moved to Kansas City, Missouri and began their family. Later, she worked at Sears on The Country Club Plaza. In 1963, the family settled in Topeka and she started her career at Menninger's, retiring in the early 90s as a Section Head Secretary after 25 years of service.
Alice was a member of West Side Baptist Church. She enjoyed quilting and the groups she quilted with. She was an animal lover and had many rescued dogs and cats over the years that she loved dearly.
Survivors include two sons, Kurt Kieffer and Ralph J. Kieffer, of Fort Collins, Colorado; one brother, Bill Tuberson; one grandson, Chris Kieffer and his wife, Dr. Jessica Kieffer; and great-granddaughter, Margot Kieffer.
She was preceded her husband, Alan, two brothers, Earl and Bob Tuberson.
Private inurnment will be held at Mount Hope Cemetery.
