Alice Elinor Humes, 93, Topeka, died April 15, 2006 at McCrite Plaza in Topeka.
She was born September 5, 1912 in Jewell, Kansas. Her parents were Orlando E. and Alma A. White. Her brother Rex White preceded her in death.
She attended school in Jewell and graduated from Jewell Rural High School in 1932, followed by two years at Kansas State. She was a member of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority.
She was married to Morris C. Humes on June 24, 1936. He died September 16, 1956.
She was a bookkeeper in the State Treasurers Office until retirement. She was a member of the Highland Park United Methodist Church and the Woman's Society of Christian Service.
Survivors include her daughter, Mary Alice Jackson and her husband, Charles, Duncanville, Texas; her son, Robert L. Humes and his wife Nancy, Topeka; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Services will be at Highland Park United Methodist Church on Saturday, April 22, 2006 a 1:00 p.m.
