Alice M. Heald, 85, of Topeka, died Friday February 22, 2013 at McCrite's Plaza.
She was born April 13, 1927 at Auburn, Kansas the daughter of Edward G. and Lela Manley Bean. Alice attended Topeka schools and graduated from University High School, Lawrence, Kansas. She was employed by the State Department of Revenue from 1947 until 1979.
Mrs. Heald was a long time member of Highland Park United Methodist Church, Topeka Chapter #462 Order of the Eastern Star, Trinity White Shrine of Jerusalem, Ancient Toltec Rite, Wah-No-Zuoh 70 Club, Media Grotto, Medianns, Nobelles of Arab Shrine.
She was married to Edmund M. Heald August 28, 1949 at Wichita, Kansas. He died December 22, 1989. Survivors include a brother, Marvin D. Bean, Topeka; and two sisters, Delores L. Butler, West Hills, CA; Mary Beth Lacy, Cottonwood, AZ.
Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday February 27, 2013 at the Highland Park United Methodist Church with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ed and Alice Heald Scholarship, Washburn University Music Department. Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
