Alice C. Miller

Alice C. Miller, 100, of Topeka, passed away Sunday, March 19, 2006 at an Atchison care facility.

She was born May 3, 1905 in Wilson KS., the daughter of Stephen and Louisa Bossing Holzer.

Mrs. Miller worked for 37 years as an operator/clerk for the Southwestern Bell Telephone Company, retiring in June, 1966. She was a member of the Estrelita Club, Buelah Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star, a volunteer for the American Red Cross at Toltec and at the Colmery-O'Neil V.A. Hospital with over 10,000 hours. She was also a member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary.

She married George Orbach in 1943 in Topeka. He preceded her in death in 1953. She married Frank B. Miller in October, 1956 in Topeka. He preceded her in death on February 2, 1987.

Survivors include a sister, Ethel Dobrinski of Pryor, OK; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Miller will lie in state after 1:00 pm, Wednesday, March 29, 2006 at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm, Thursday, March 30 at the funeral home with burial to follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
