Alfredo Alarcon

April 2, 1973 — March 30, 2025

Alfredo “Freddy” Alarcon, 51, passed away on March 30, 2025 surrounded by family at the University of Kansas Advanced Heart Care Center in Kansas City, KS, after a long, hard, eight month battle, his body was tired.

Freddy was born on April 2, 1973 in El Paso, TX to the late Alfred Alarcon of El Paso, TX and the late Bessie Hammonds of Lady Lake, FL.

When Freddy was a young man, he worked in construction laboring. He later took on mechanic work. He enjoyed working on anything with an engine. He was a good mechanic and knew his way around engines and transmissions. He really enjoyed working on muscle cars and motorcycles. Freddy met a friend that offered him a job driving a semi-truck. He would go on to do long hauling across the United States for the next 28 years. He was a true trucker and was proud of his trucking handle name, “Crazy Mexican”. After many years on the road, Freddy would finish his career as a diesel mechanic. In his spare time, Freddy loved putting together car and truck models but his true passion was fishing. He would take anyone who was willing to go. He would go fishing day or night. His love was for catfish. Freddy didn’t know a stranger. You couldn’t go anywhere without him knowing somebody or striking up a conversation with a total stranger. Freddy was the kind of guy to give his own shirt off his back. Family and friends were his life. Especially, his granddaughter, “The Queen”. Freddy would later meet his ex wife, Viris, and would raise her two kids and have two daughters of his own.

Freddy is survived by his children, Tanya Ramirez (Elias Angulo), Edgar Lujan, Samantha Ramirez, and Melanie Ramirez all of Topeka, KS. Grandkids, Dalilah (The Queen), Ezekiha, Bryan, Edgar.

Siblings: Veronica Alarcon, El Paso, Tx, Samuel Arebalo (Janell) Topeka, KS, Lucy Kilts (Dusty) Wellington, KS, Lisa Frame (Danny) Wichita, KS

Nieces and nephews: Julian De La Riva, Tomas De La Riva, Isaiah Calderon, Charlie Calderon, Donovan Rowley, Ethan Rowley, Isaac Eylicio, Peyton Arebalo, Shane Nealy, Korbyn Allton, Tayland French, Shayland French, Kaydland Arebalo, Myriland French, Mykiland French, Therin Frame, and Airalyn Frame. Great nieces, Eleanor Rowley, June Pantoja and Layla De La Riva, and great nephews Ransom Rowley, and Tomas De La Riva.

There will be no visitation as Freddy’s wishes were to be cremated. There will be a celebration of life to take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, Freddy would want everybody to take a moment to enjoy life with your family or simply, go fishing.
