Alfred H. Dicke, age 92, of Topeka passed away Friday, September 17, 2010 at his home. He was born Jan 10, 1918 in Vassar, KS to Louis and Sophia Dicke.
He worked at Bethleham Steel in San Francisco and was stationed in San Diego while serving in WWII. He was extremely proud of the battleships and destroyers he helped build during this time. He was honorably discharged in 1946. After returning to Topeka, he worked for Topeka Foundry and Iron Works for 34 years before retiring in 1983.
He married Erma M. Bozarth in 1940 she proceeded him in death in 1986. He is survived by his daughters, Cheryl L Molter of Topeka; Denise 'Dee' (David) Newbery of Topeka.
Grandchildren: Michael D. Molter (Debbie) of Topeka; Todd K Molter of Seattle, WA; Tiffany R Young of Kansas City, MO; Jon D. Young (Crissy) of Norman, Oklahoma; Jay Newbery (Jen) of Kansas City, MO; Pat Newbery of Omaha, NE; Katie Sonderegger (Marc). Great grandchildren Jared Molter, Loren Snell; Hannah, Allison, and Rachel Meyer and Archer Sonderegger of Topeka, Kansas. He's survived by his sisters, Dorothy Grillo(Mike) Syracuse NY, Luella Weikel of Kansas City, KS, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Arnold, August, Clarence, Eddie, Elmer, Ernie, by his twin sister Christina and sisters Alta and Minnie.
Visitation will be from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Monday, September 20, 2010 at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, Mid-Town Chapel, 1321 S.W. 10th Avenue, Topeka, KS. Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 21.
