Alexsandr C. "Alex" Evans, 28, Topeka, passed away on Sunday, October 12, 2008.
Alex was born August 15, 1980 in Topeka, the son of Robert E. Evans II and Janella R. Pomeroy Evans. He graduated from Topeka High School in 1998, received a degree from Kaw Area Vocational Technical School, and had attended Washburn University.
He had been the manager at Vanderbilt's North in Topeka and recently began working as a Conductor for Union Pacific Railroad in Herington.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and a Tuesday night men's bowling league at Gage Center.
Survivors include companion, Jamie Boger and her son, Treyton, Topeka; brother, Walter (Rebecca) Evans, Palestine, TX; step-mother, Lori Evans, North Platte, NE; grandparents, Elwaine and Joanne Pomeroy, Topeka; great-grandmother, Evelyn Bunge, Topeka; uncles, Duane (Debbie) Pomeroy, Topeka, Carl (Debbie) Pomeroy, Tulsa, OK; aunts, Maggie (Jim) Ziegler, Gwen Evans; great-uncle, Charles (Lurene) Pomeroy, all of Topeka; great-aunt, Jeanine Laughlin, Great Bend; numerous cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, an aunt, and paternal grandparents.
Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, October 17, 2008 at Trinity Lutheran Church. Inurnment will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Friday from 11:30 a.m. until service time.
