Aldon Reddick was born June 14, 1931 in Alma, Missouri to Ran And Flora Hays Reddick. Aldon was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Alma, Missouri. He moved to Topeka, Kansas in 1951 and has been a resident for 52 years.
Aldon served his country proudly in the Lorean War Conflict. He never went anywhere without his Korean War ball cap. After his retirement at a laborer, he kept busy by working at Aunt Sue's and Tucker's in downtown Topeka. Most of all, Aldon loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Aldon is survived by his children, Rosalyn D. Reddick, Kevin A. Reddick, and Prentiss C. Reddick, all of Omaha, Nebraska; Steven R. Reddick and his wife, Tammy of Topeka, Kansas; DeAnthony Briller, Topeka; Mamie Briller, Louisiana; 12 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren; his sisters, Ana Walker, Kansas City, MO, Mary Washington, Marshall, MO, and Esther Vinson, Topeka, KS; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Lula L. Searcy and Elsie Graves (both of Topeka)
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 21, 2003 at Penwell Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Burial will be in Topeka Cemetery. Mr. Reddick will lie in state at Penwell Gabel Mid Town Chapel after 1:00 p.m. Thursday, March 20, 2003 where the family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m.
