Alberta "Maxine" Parkinson, 79, Topeka, passed away Thursday, April 24, 2003, at a local care facility in Topeka, Kansas.
Maxine was born February 16, 1924, in Topeka, Kansas, the daughter of James A. and Loretta Burman Myers. She has been a lifetime Topeka resident.
Maxine was a homemaker. She worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone for a short time. She and her late husband Frank J. Parkinson were one of the original founders and members of the Ken Berry League. She was also a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Topeka, Kansas.
She married Frank J. Parkinson August 2, 1941, in Topeka, Kansas. He passed away May 23, 1993.

A funeral service will be 1:00 p.m., Monday, April 28, 2003, at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Interment will be in West Lawn Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Parkinson will lie in state after 3:00 p.m., Saturday, April 26, at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. A visitation will be from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m., Sunday, April 27.
A memorial service will take place 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 29, 2003, at Wesley Hall at Aldersgate Village.
Memorial contributions may be given to Topeka Lutheran School Foundation, Inc. 701 Roosevelt Street Topeka, Kansas 66606-1798.
Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
