Albert F. Wilson, Jr., 85, Topeka, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2008 at The Homestead of Topeka.
He was born Oct. 15, 1922 in Chillicothe, MO, the son of Albert F., Sr. and Catherine Lucy Fitzpatrick Wilson. He served in the US Army during WW2, and was a member of Capital Post #1 American Legion and Philip Billard Post #1650 V.F.W.
Following his service, he attended pharmacy school at the University of Kansas City. He and his wife owned Wilson Pharmacy in the Potwin area of Topeka.
He married Ilah M. Wallace on April 10, 1943 in Salina. She died July 23, 2008.
Survivors include three daughters and their families - Mary Athey of Hamden, CT; Linda and Dan Carroll of Topeka; Diana and Ralph Malott of Topeka; and five grandchildren, Joel (Ann) Athey, Amy (Gerald) McDonald, Timothy (Cherri) Carroll, Nicole (David) Vasquez, and Matthew (Tiffany) Carroll.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Interment will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Mr. Wilson will lie in state after noon Friday at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends an hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Mr. Wilson's name to the charity of the donor's choice.
