Alan Ford
Alan J. Ford, 47, of Topeka, passed away on Saturday, July 29, 2006 at his home after an extended illness.
He was born October 25, 1958 in Manhattan, KS, the son of Warren and Dolores Ford.
He spent his childhood years in Leonardville, KS graduating from Riley County High School and Kansas State University with a bachelors degree in accounting. He was a Certified Public Accountant, working for the Kansas Securities Commission as the Director of Examinations. He was an active member of NASAA( North American Securities Administrators Association) and of AICPA(American Institute of Certified Public Accountants).
He relished spending time with his family and friends and enjoyed traveling.
He married Kathy L. Winchell on March 1, 1986 in Horton, KS. She survives.
Other survivors include a son and daughter, Spencer and Haley; his parents, Warren and Dolores Ford of Leonardville; a sister, Beth Ratcliffe of New York City and a brother, Stephen Ford of Cheney, KS.
Alan will lie in state after 2:00 pm, Sunday, July 30 at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm, Monday, July 31 at the funeral home. Cremation is planned and a private inurnment service will be held at a later date.
