OBITUARY
AGNES SHAVEY STAUFFER
Aggie Stauffer, 80, Topeka, died October 27, 2002, at Hospice House.
She was born on August 10, 1922 in Buschlen, Sweden to Anna and Olaf Johnson. She immigrated to the United States in 1928. She attended Topeka High School and Clarks Business College.
Mrs. Stauffer married Donald R. Shavey in 1940. They owned the Owl Drug Stores in Topeka for over 25 years. He died in 1965. She married Warren (Pete) Stauffer in 1966. He died in 1998.
She was raised in Topeka and had a summer home at Lake Wabaunsee for 20 years. Aggie then lived at the Lake for 31 years with Mr. Stauffer before moving back to Topeka in 1998. She was a member of the Elks Lodge, Wabaunsee Sportsman Association and the Eskridge Chamber of Commerce. She worked for Bankers Investment for 20 years, and attended both the Methodist and Baptist Church, Eskridge, Kansas.
Survivors include two sons, Donald R. Shavey Jr., Berryton, and Warren (Pete) Stauffer, Jr., Lake Wabaunsee; two daughters, Deborah Gill, Lake Wabaunsee, and Peggy Griswold, St Louis; 12 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren. A sister, Margaret Curtis, and a brother, Rune Widskog preceded Mrs. Stauffer in death.
October 30, 2002 Mid-Town
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery after the service. Mrs. Stauffer will lie in State between Noon to 7:00 pm Oct 29 at the funeral home. The family will receive friends and relatives from 5:30 PM-to 7:00 that evening.
