Agnes Ruth "Aggie" Miller, 76, Topeka, passed away Thursday, November 22, 2012 at Midland Hospice House.
Aggie was born October 1, 1936 in Keytesville, MO, the daughter of Wilmer T. and Frankie E. (Payne) Link. She graduated from Keytesville High School in 1954.
She held numerous positions with Southwestern Bell Telephone Company, including being an operator and sales representative, retiring in 1992 after 31 years of service.
She was a member of the Shooting Star Square dancers, and the Shawnee County Master Gardeners, where she had served as Treasurer, and spent many hours planting at Ensley Gardens at Lake Shawnee.
Everyone knew she was a dear and sweet lady who would give anything asked of her, but had an ornery streak.
Aggie met her husband Carl E. Miller while she was serving with the U.S.O. and he in the U.S. Air Force. They married October 20, 1956 in Marceline, MO. He died January 27, 2006. Survivors include sons, Joe (Teresa) Miller, Sedalia, MO, Robert (Stephanie) Miller, Oklahoma City, OK, Daron Miller, Topeka; granddaughter, Tierra Miller; sisters, Dorris Gideon, Dublin, CA, Patricia Kychik, Topeka, Toni Groves, Ft. Smith, AR; and brother, Walter Link, Kingsville, MO. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Tina Miller; and granddaughter, Amanda Miller.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 1, 2012 at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Private family inurnment will be in the Memorial Park cemetery in Sedalia, MO.
