Agatha A. Oestmann Cavanaugh, 93, Topeka, passed away Tuesday, July 21, 2015.
Born January 13, 1922 in Talmage, Nebraska, the daughter of Henry and Helen (Kreimer) Doermann, she graduated from Talmage High School.
Agatha was an LPN working for Stormont-Vail Hospital and later Shawnee County Health Department, where she retired.
She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church and Hope LWML.
On July 28, 1941, she married Stanley Oestmann. He preceded her in death in 1964. She later married John Cavanaugh. He preceded her in death in 1986. She was also preceded in death by her son, Robert and brother, Dennis.
Survivors include her children, Kathy (Jim) McClellan, Valiant, OK; Dean (Twila) Oestmann, Wetmore, KS; and Joe (Paula) Oestmann, Millerton, OK; five grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and two sisters, Marlys Vaughn, NE and Constance Bruns, AR.
Agatha loved her church and coffee with friends. She also enjoyed gardening watching the Food Network and collecting recipes.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, July 25, 2015 at Hope Lutheran Church. Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday at the Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel from 6-8 p.m.
