Adrian Doerr

Adrian T. Doerr, 94, of Wamego, formally of Alta Vista, KS, passed away on Wednesday, October 10, 2012.
He was born on August 24, 1918 in McCracken, KS, the son of Henry & Polly (Cates) Doerr.
Adrian was graduated from McCracken High School.
During WWII, Adrian joined the U.S. Army serving for four years.
Adrian was a farmer in Western Kansas. He worked in grocery sales, owned a restaurant in Eureka, KS, and retired from the State of Kansas IRS.
He was a member of the United Brethren Church, VFW, The American Legion, F.O.E
Adrian married Wilma Crisp in 1944. Together they had two children. He later married Doris Zieber in 1992, she survives.
Survivors include two children, Adrienne (Gary) Freeman and Tom (Phoebe) Doerr; four grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and four siblings.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Monday, October, 15, at the Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel, 1321 SW 10th Ave., Topeka, KS. Interment will follow at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery at 6th and Gage, Topeka. Mr. Doerr will lie in state from 2:00-4:00 p.m., on Sunday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association 4125 SW Gage Center Dr., Topeka, KS 66604.
