Adolph "Abe" Ehret, Jr., 79, of Topeka, passed away, Tuesday, January 27, 2004 at Midland Hospice House.
He was born February 15, 1924 at Atchison, Kansas the son of Adolph and Mary (Barnes) Ehret. Mr. Ehret was a 1942 graduate of Atchison High School.
Following high school he served in the United States Navy during World War II. He served in the Pacific Theater on the U.S.S. Midway. Mr. Ehret served in the Navy from 1943-1946.
After his military service he attended Kansas University.
He had worked as a systems technician for Southwestern Bell 37 years. He retired December 31, 1983.
Abe was a lifetime member of Philip Billard Post #1650 VFW, Telephone Pioneers and Faith Lutheran Church.
He married Anna Florine McDaniel on February 15, 1953 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Atchison. She survives. Other Survivors include:

Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday at the Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Burial will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery. Mr. Ehret will lie in state after 12:00 noon Thursday at the funeral home where the family will greet friends from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Thursday.
