Adeline C. Briman, 97, of Topeka, passed away June 5, 2009. She was born March 24, 1912, the daughter of Benjamin and Anna Oberstein Cohen. She grew up in Topeka and was the last survivor of an old-time Topeka family. Mrs. Briman was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Briman, three sisters, and two brothers.
She attended Washburn University.
Among her many civic activities were: President and Board Member of the Mulvane Art Center, President of the Jeffersonia Club, and the Woodrow Wilson Club.
She was a member of Temple Beth Sholom.
She is survived by a niece, Beth C. Furman of South Orange, NJ, two nephews; Barry L. Cohen of Levelland, TX and B. Robertson Cohen of Estes Park, CO, and six grand nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, June 9, 2009, 11:00 am, at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel, 1321 SW 10th St, with interment to follow at Mount Hope Cemetery. Rabbi Debbie S. Stiel will officiate.
