A. Dixie Pratt, 96, of Topeka, passed away Tuesday, February 23, 2021.
Dixie was born November 1, 1924, in Holton, Kansas, the daughter of Amos and Minnie (Roby) Kauffman.
Dixie graduated from Holton High School in 1942.
During WW II she was employed in the War Price and Rationing Office at the Jackson County Court House in Holton.
Dixie retired from the Kansas Legislature after 15 years of service.
She was a member of Countryside United Methodist Church in Topeka.
She married A.J. Pratt on December 23, 1944 in Holton. Upon A.J.'s discharge from WW II they moved to Topeka. Dixie and A.J. had one daughter, Connie. She preceded her in death in 2009, as well as her husband, Nels in 2010. A.J. preceded Dixie in death in 2011. She was also preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Earl, DeWayne and Dale and a sister, Marjorie.
Dixie is survived by two grandsons, Nick and Matt Baatrup and a great-grandson, Bradon Baatrup and several nephews and cousins.
Dixie enjoyed bowling and her Dazzling Dozen group and play with her Bunco Group.
Cremation is planned. A celebration of life service will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, March 27, 2020 at Penwell-Gabel Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 1321 SW 10th Ave, Topeka, KS, with a reception to follow.
