Beverely "Pudgie" Robb

Beverely "Pudgie" Robb, 78, passed away September 24, 2013, at home. Pudgie was the middle child born August 22, 1935, to Jackson L. and R. Marguerite (Covert) Benton. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her siblings, Donna Ruth Frederick, Georgia Lee Cole, Jackson L. Benton, Jr. and Robert R. Benton. She lived her entire life in Topeka graduating from Holliday Jr. High Class in 1950 and from Topeka High School in 1953. In 1996, she married Ron Robb, who survives her. She is also survived by a son, Kent Roenbaugh; daughter, Lori Roenbaugh; step-son, Brady Robb (Suzanne); step-daughter, Becky Dickinson (Dick); grandchildren, David, (Natalie) and Chris Wolfe, and Parker and Piper Robb; sister-in-law, Helen Benton; ten nieces and nephews; and hundreds of friends.

Pudgie was an active member of the Topeka community where she served as a volunteer of Stormont-Vail Hospital Auxiliary #6, Every Women's Resource Center Designer Show Houses as restaurant chairman, Topeka Country Club and Shawnee Country Club Women's Golf Associations having served as treasurer, and a member of First Congregational Church. She was also a long-time Washburn University supporter.

Pudgie was an avid gardener and may have been seen planting flowers and pulling weeds at Brookwood Shopping Center or at a friend's house. Many a gardener does their weeding with a Pudgie Robb steak knife. She was a tireless worker, helped many people with their needs, whatever that might have been. Pudgie enjoyed cooking, bird watching, golfing, and anything involving the University of Kansas. She had a wide circle of friends and family who will miss her greatly, and remember her always.

Memorial services will be 11 am Saturday, September 28 at First Congregational Church, 17th & Collins. Inurnment will be held at a later date in the Mount Hope Cemetery. Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel is assisting with arrangements.
