Cornell Lately, 61, of Topeka, passed away on March 9, 2024 peacefully at home.
He was born on April 2, 1962 to Wiley and Vera (Hammond) Lately in St. Louis, MO.
Cornell worked as a Construction Worker, and was an excellent athlete at Junction City High School.
Cornell and Shirley Lindsey lived in Topeka, Kansas.
Cornell is survived by his loving wife; Shirley Lindsey, His mother; Vera Lately, His special niece; Ashley Lately-Harness (Lavarra), brothers; Jerome Irons of St Louis, Calvin Lately of Denver, Kenneth Lately, Lester Lately all of Topeka Ks, Keith Lately of Conway Arkansas, sisters; Cynthia Lately, Hazel Lately-Veal both of Topeka Ks children; Shelica Jackson, Jerome Lindsey and Bernard Lindsey of Topeka Kansas, daughter; Kaiyln Lately of Leavenworth Kansas, nieces; Cassandra Lately, Keishera Lately, Cherelle Lately, Jazmine Lately .Kurtisha Brister, Angela Lately, Olivia Lately nephews; Taron Lately, Jackson Lately, Ethann Quinn, Anthony Moses and a host of grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father; Wiley Lately Jr., grandmother; Alberta Green of St Louis Missouri, grandfather; Wiley Lately the 1st of Parkin Arkansas, brother; Wiley Irons-Lately of St Louis Missouri grandmother; Hazel Temple of Junction City Kansas, grandfather; McKinley Hammond of Monticello Mississippi.
