Joyce Louise Rasmussen, 85, of Topeka, passed away on December 2, 2023 at University of Kansas Medical Center.
She was born on February 11, 1938 to Albert and Velora (Laude) Barnes in Yates Center, Kansas.
Joyce worked for the State of Kansas, for 38 years.
On February 14, 1959 she married James Rasmussen. Joyce and James lived in Topeka, Kansas.
She enjoyed going to Fanfair, country dancing, and camping.
Joyce is survived by her loving husband; James, son; James Rasmussen, II, granddaughter; Jessica Sharp, grandsons; Allen Rasmussen and Paul Romesburg, 4 great grand children, Sisters; Joetta Asbury, Evelyn Ehrsam, Myrtle Heronime, Margaret Mobley, Henrietta Spaulding, Barbara Butts, Brother; Glenn Coffield.
She was preceded in death by her father; Albert Barnes, mother; Velora Barnes, beloved daughter; Roxanna Rasmussen, brother; Howard Barnes granddaughter; Danielle Romesburg.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 8, 2023, 10:00 am at the First United Methodist Church, 600 SW Topeka Blvd, Topeka, KS 66603, visitation will be one hour prior to service time.
Graveside Service will take place on Friday, December 8, 2023 1:00 pm in the Memorial Park Cemetery.
