Mary Ann Dugan, 79, of Topeka, passed away Friday, December 1, 2023.
She was born January 1, 1944, in Evanston, Illinois. She was the daughter of Robert and Celeste (Glass) Hornung. She graduated from Kapaun Mt. Carmel in Wichita, KS. Mary Ann attended Kansas State University earning a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education. She taught for several years in Holton Kansas.
She later earned her Master's Degree in Social Work from the University of Kansas. Mary Ann was employed by Brookside Mental Health for 38 years.
In her spare time, she treasured the time she spent with her family. She also enjoyed spending time in her yard gardening, painting, and volunteering.
Mary Ann was previously married to John Bottenberg and they had two children Jeff and Jenni. They were married in Wichita, KS. She later married Donald Dugan on October 9, 1988 in Topeka, Kansas and he had two daughters Dawn and Lyn.
She leaves behind her husband, Donald; her children, Jeff Bottenberg, Jenni (Chris) Brown, Dawn (Jimmy) McMullen and Lyn Dugan-Weichert; grandchildren, Tyler (Kassie) Stock, Joshua (Elizabeth) Stock, Alec Stock, Rory Bottenberg, Zack Weichert, Tristian Weichert, Eli Weichert, Kody (Shelby) Brown and Jared Brown; great grandchildren, Kyzer Stock and Layton Brown; her siblings, John Horning, Bill (Carol) Hornung, Sally (Bill) Pauzauskie and Suzie (David) Zeller and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and grandson, Isaac Weichert.
Her family will greet relatives and friends from 12:30pm-1:30pm on Friday, December 8, 2023 at Mount Hope Funeral Chapel, 4700 SW 17th Street, Topeka, KS 66604. A graveside Service will follow at 1:30 pm in the Mount Hope Funeral Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 3846 W 75th St, Prairie Village, KS 66208.
