Marilynn Mae King

Marilynn King, 88, of Topeka, passed away peacefully in her sleep on November 11, 2023 surrounded by her family.
She was born on March 3, 1935 to Marvin and Clara (Koopman) Boerger in Palmer, Kansas.

On April 4, 1954 Marilynn married Gerald King. Gerald and Marilynn moved to Topeka, Kansas in 1956 and had 4 children.
Marilynn was a stay-at-home mom while also working as an Avon Sales Representative. After all her four children were in school she began working at Western Bindery in Topeka as a book binder.

She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, she enjoyed sports, gardening, quilting and spending time with her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; Gerald King, father; Marvin Boerger, mother; Clara Boerger, daughter, Patricia Keithley, her son, Gary King, her granddaughter, Jennifer Robinson, her brother, Leo Boerger, her brother Roger Boerger, and her sister, Linda Yelton.

Marilynn is survived by her son, Ronald King, her daughter, Dianna Helms, her brother, Richard Boerger, her grandson, Corey King, her granddaughter, Christina Ficara, her great-grandchildren, Timothy Ficara, Vincent Ficara, Giovanni Ficara, Gene Schafer, and Bailey Schafer.

Funeral services will be held on November 17, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at Penwell Gabel Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will take place following the funeral service in the Topeka Cemetery.
