On Friday, April 28, 2023, Daniel Alan Wiggs, lost a swift but valiant fight against colorectal cancer with his loving wife Amy by his side.
Dan was born September 18, 1981, in Portsmouth, VA, but grew up in Elizabeth City, NC, forever making him a Tarheel fan.
His family moved to Topeka, KS and he graduated from Topeka West in 1999 and Washburn University in 2007. While at Washburn University, Dan worked at Timberline Steakhouse where he met the love of his life, Amy Commons. He was head over heels from day one. They married in June of 2007.
Dan began his career at Educational Credit Union in Marketing and later began working for SE2, now known as Zinnia. While at SE2 he held several positions from quality control to IT management. He worked on various projects and programs as well as managed teams to create growth in the company.
Above all, Dan knew Jesus as his Lord and Savior. This faith shaped how he loved people. Oh, how he loved people.
This love showed through as a husband, father, brother, son, mentor, and friend. From serving with the Fellowship Bible Church Technical Arts team to coaching little league baseball and mentoring others in his field, his kind and caring nature motivated others to seek their full potential.
Never one to miss out on the fun and fellowship, the Wiggs Diggs, has been the site of numerous Fourth of July, Halloween, and small group gatherings. Much to Amy's dismay, the fireworks show got a little bigger and brighter each year.
Dan's wit and love will be missed by so many, including his wife of nearly 16 years, Amy, and sons Ronin and Kolsen. He is also survived by his parents, Alan & Brenda Wiggs, sister Joy (Jacin) Bailes, and his nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Penwell Gabel Midtown Chapel, 1321 SW 10th Ave, on Wednesday, May 3rd from 5 - 7pm. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, May 4th at 5:00pm at Fellowship Bible Church, 6800 SW 10th Ave, Topeka, Kansas 66615.
In lieu of flowers the family suggest Memorial Donations may be made to The Wiggs Family Fund at any Azura Credit Union location.
