Marilyn June Pilcher, 83, of Topeka, went to be with her Lord and Saviour on Thursday, December 14, 2017 at Midland Hospice House.
She was born June 11, 1934 in Glasco, the daughter of Clyde and Verla Wisbey.
After completing her high school education at Glasco High School, she moved to Topeka and worked at several jobs before marrying her future husband Dean.
Marilyn went to work for the Santa Fe Railroad as a legal secretary, retiring from Santa Fe in 2004. She then went to work for the State of Kansas Judicial Office for five years.
She was very fond of her flower garden, enjoyed country music and going to the Moose Lodge with her beloved husband, the late Dean Pilcher. She was a very outgoing person with many close friends. In her later years Marilyn cared for her close friends and was always concerned for others.
Marilyn is survived by her sons, Kevin Pilcher of Wichita, Mitchell Pilcher (Judy) of Topeka; granddaughter Maggie Pilcher-Jenson of Savannah, GA and grandson Rocky Pilcher of Wichita; brothers Carroll Wisbey (Barbara) of Topeka and Gary Wisbey (Theresa) of Salina, KS and sister Elaine Miller (Wayne) of Albuquerque, NM.
She was preceded in death by her husband Dean and a grandson, Erik Pilcher.
Marilyn will lie in state after 2:00 p.m., Sunday, December 17 at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel, 1321 S.W. 10th Ave. where the family will greet friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. that evening. A graveside service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Monday, December 18 at Glasco Cemetery, Glasco, KS.
